Prairie Family Business Association announces advisory board additions

Prairie Family Business Association announces two additions to its advisory board.
Stephanie Taylor is a third-generation family member of Sydell, Inc. Sydell is headquartered in Burbank, South Dakota, and specialized in steel equipment for sheep and goats. When she’s not working in her family business, Stephanie is an entertainment and music industry attorney.
Scott Stern is CEO and second-generation owner of Stern Oil Company headquartered in Freeman, South Dakota. Stern is a petroleum distribution & consultation partner throughout the Midwest.
Taylor and Stern begin a three-year term. The mission of the advisory board is to provide insight on programs of value and referrals of family businesses while helping to fulfill the Association’s purpose to help family businesses thrive through generations.
Stephanie Larscheid, Executive Director, comments on the additions to the advisory board.

Prairie Family Business Association thanks three departing members of the advisory board, Mark Moffatt, De Vee Dykstra and Mark Yockey.
After completing his second three-year term on the Advisory Board, the Association recognizes the contributions of outgoing advisory board member Mark Moffatt, third generation owner and President of Moffatt Products headquartered in Watertown, South Dakota.
De Vee Dykstra has completed nearly a decade of service to the PFBA advisory board. Dykstra is a champion of family-owned businesses and contributed to the advisory board through service and through academic family business research.
Mark Yockey has served as the Interim Dean of the USD Beacom School of Business during the 2022-23 academic year. He has made valuable contributions to PFBA and to the advisory board through strategy and vision development.
Prairie Family Business Association thanks Moffatt, Dykstra and Yockey for their dedication and service.
The Prairie Family Business Association (PFBA), founded in 1992, is an outreach center of the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business. PFBA helps family businesses thrive through generations by providing a resource network for family business success. The Association serves 260 members of businesses throughout the region and nation.
