Focusing on large commercial and industrial electrical projects, Muth Electric has evolved from a two-employee company in 1970 to employ a team of 700 across 10 locations in South Dakota and Omaha, Nebraska. Four generations of the Muth Family were present to accept the award, along with two generations of the Hopkins Family.

Muth Electric was chosen as the recipient of this year’s award by family business peers in Sioux Falls. Past recipients of this award select the annual award winner. Criteria for the award represent characteristics of Boyd Hopkins, Sr.: determination, foresight, strength, leadership, and commitment to family, business and community.

The event started with a Legacy Tour of the water tower builder, Maguire’s one-year old state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sioux Falls.
